We are very pleased to be working with writer and curator Anna Souter on A Gothic Midsummer, a special pop-up group show which will be taking place in Bruton, Somerset from 14 – 23 July. Bringing together varied pieces by Johanna Bath, Daisy Dodd-Noble, Camilla Emson, Nadine Lohof, Sophie Mason, Calli Moore, Chantall Powell and Noelia Towers, the exhibition looks to re-examine bucolic representation through ostensibly charming yet curiously ominous works.

We are excited to present our summer exhibition EXTREME, an evolving group show featuring four individually curated presentations by four ultra-contemporary artists: Joe Bloom, Channatip Chanvipava, fuchsia and Rose Raine. Week by week, each artist will respond to the gallery space, using its architecture to enhance the interpretation and reception of their works. EXTREME will be on display at Roman Road from 28 June through 23 July 2023, and there will be an opening event at the gallery every Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM during the show for each of the participating artists’ showcases:

Advancing on its mission to create a cultural and community-driven space fostering collaboration and cross-pollination amongst artists’ practices, RR Studios & Curation is pleased to announce its second studio programme in London.

 

Providing a unique opportunity for artists to collaborate and grow with coaching seminars and networking possibilities, the Summer Studio Programme is a special edition aimed at artists who are seeking to develop a new project or concept, offering the chance to work with expert guidance in London throughout the summer.

 

The Summer Studio Programme will welcome four artists in Bethnal Green, East London, for a period of 2 months starting on Monday 03 July.

Roman Road is delighted to host a pop-up solo exhibition by artist and performer Sofia Kouloukouri at our gallery space in Notting Hill. The exhibition, titled ALL ABOUT EVE, opens on Friday 16 June from 6.30 – 9 PM, and the opening event will include a performance by the artist at 7 PM. There will also be a second performance at the gallery on 21 June at 7 PM.

 

Sofia Kouloukouri is an artist and performer living in Geneva. Through endurance and narration, her work deals with weights as a feminine heritage going back to the fundamental education of girls, myth, and the Christian doctrine. By way of her objects and performances the artist inserts herself in ‘grand narratives’, and appropriates them, claiming a new space and order for her female characters.
